Bree giggled when his fingers brushed against the softness behind her knee. The giggle deepened as he nipped the flesh of her inner thigh. That throaty laugh hit him in the groin, making his erection jump. This slow exploration would be the death of him, but he was determined to make it good for her.
Continuing to lave her skin, he followed the scent of her desire. He inhaled deeply. She was so ready for him, and he had yet to touch her moist lips. Spreading her slick folds, he lapped up the juices before flicking the tip of his tongue over her bright red clit.
Bree jumped. “Oh, yes, please. More.”
Planting his lips over her nub, he sucked and flicked, each time increasing pressure with his mouth.
Her breaths grew rapid. She whimpered as her thighs tightened. “You’re going to make me come.”
“Do it.”
He slid two fingers inside her and listened to her purr. She rocked against him, her hands grabbing his hair and holding him in place. He continued to thrust his fingers deep, to stroke her with his tongue, feeling her tense as she grew close. Her hips bucked, her pussy grabbed his fingers, and she cried out in wordless pleasure.
He stilled, allowing her to ride out the waves of her orgasm, his own need coming to a head. Ash kissed her inner thigh, then rose find his travel kit with his necessities like toothbrush and condoms. “I should have thought of this first.” Grabbing a string of foil packets, he tore off the first and tossed the rest on the nightstand.
Bree’s eyes followed his hand to his erection when he rolled on the rubber and he had trouble keeping the throbbing flesh still under her gaze. He wanted to stroke it, hear her praise it, but mostly he wanted to fuck her. The stroking and praising of his ego could come later. Their second time.
As he lay over her, she framed his face with her hands and gave him a hard kiss. “I love the smell of me on you.” She licked the tip of his nose and grabbed his hips. “I need something hard and hot inside me. Now.”
Her legs opened to him and with one hand, she guided him into place. He didn’t wait for more encouragement. Thrusting deep, he went all in with one stroke, pausing to keep from coming too soon.
Bree moaned with a deliciously sexy grin. Her eyelids closed and she licked her lower lip. “That feels so good.” Her words were a deep purr that made his balls tighten.
When he felt he had a bit of control again, he pulled out slowly, savoring the feel of her silky, warm opening swallowing him. Damn, she fit him like a glove. A tight, fucking sexy glove. He couldn’t get enough of being deep inside her. He pumped harder, faster, trying to get deeper each time. Trying to satisfy the growing hunger that wouldn’t be sated if they made love all night.
And they might make love all night, if he had his way. However, he had something to finish first. Placing her legs on his shoulders, he tipped up her hips and thrust once, twice more against her moist walls before his balls tightened and he exploded.
His eyes squinted. His mind shut down. His hips shook. He finally exhaled long and loud, letting his head fall.
Bree’s hands relaxed from their tight grip of his ass, and she stroked his cheeks and lower back. “Fuck, that was so much better than I thought it would be.”
He lifted his head and glared at her.
Her eyelids popped open as if she felt the intensity of his gaze. “Wait, that didn’t come out right. I mean, I never imagined it could be that good.” She reached up and pushed his hair back from his face.
Ash wasn’t going to admit her comment had hit him just like she feared. He’d never let on he wasn’t as confident as she was in his ability to please. “No kidding. Why did we wait so long to hook up?” Climbing off the bed, he disposed of the condom and headed to the bathroom for a damp washcloth.
“Um, maybe because you never asked me out?”
He washed himself quickly in the sink before wetting a cloth in the warm water and returning to the bed. “You could have asked me out.”
She was lying on her side, her head propped on her hand, but rolled to her back when he approached. “I’m always afraid guys will say yes out of pity if I ask them out. They don’t want to hurt my feelings by turning me down.”
“You, a pity date? Not fuckin’ likely. I thought you were seeing someone.” He ran the washcloth over her thighs and slit. She was still pink and swollen, ready for him. Tossing the quickly cooling cloth on the carpet, he traced his fingertips over the curve of her hip and the long, firm muscles of her thigh.
“I was seeing someone. Then I wasn’t. Then I was.” She exhaled in a sigh. “That feels good.”
He’d reached the soft skin behind her knee. He wasn’t sure why her description of the men she’d been with bothered him so much. “Yeah, it does feel good. So, your relationships don’t last?”
She looked away, suddenly finding the curtains very interesting. “I wouldn’t call them relationships. Maybe…fuck buddies that I hoped would be as good out of bed as in it.”
He flinched at the thought of her fucking other guys, although he’d practically watched her do it in the meeting room and had gotten so hard he’d thought he’d cream his pants. He wanted to claim her, but didn’t have the right. Yet.
Massaging her calves, he asked, “So what does it take to be good out of bed?”
“You know, the usual.”
“Flowers and chocolates? Dinners at Le Petite Baguette?”
Bree laughed. “No, not necessarily. Be real. Be yourself. Be interested in me out of bed.”
He studied her, trying to read her expression. She had to be teasing him. “How can they not be? I’d think they’d want to show you off.”
“That’s flattering, but not romantic. That’s a guy thing. Which would you prefer…that a girl introduced you as an amazing fuck or the hottest new video game artist?”
He thought about it for a few seconds and chuckled. “You’re right. It’s a guy thing.”
Her laugh bounced off the far wall, rich and sweet. “I’ll remember that when you meet my friends.”
His chest tightened at that. She was thinking of seeing him again. Even after he’d asked her to strip for his buds. All his blood went south and his erection demanded attention. Fuck, it was going to be uncomfortable to work with her again next week.
Bree continued to lie on the white sheet, totally relaxed in her nakedness. He couldn’t take his eyes off her. He wanted to memorize the rise and fall of her tightly toned muscles. Then learn them all in Braille. He placed the flat of his hand on her stomach, savoring the smooth warmth. “So soft. So beautiful.”
Moving up, he found her breast and traced the lower curve. It rose and fell with her breaths, which had begun to grow shallower. She watched his forefinger draw around her rosy areola. Her skin puckered at his touch. Leaning down, he let his tongue follow the same path his finger had, then flicked her hard nipple. He rubbed his teeth over it and her gasp bounced off his erection. He growled at her. “If you keep that up, I’ll be fucking you before I’m ready.”
“If you keep that up, I’ll come the minute you slide inside me.”
“I want to take it slow this time. Find out what makes you scream.” He sucked her breast, flattening her nipple on the roof of his mouth.
“Ahhh,” she moaned. “That’s a good start.”
Her eyelids fluttered, her head rolling on the pillow. He released her nipple, ran his tongue over the heavy swell and tasted the sweat on her skin. She was so smooth, so warm beneath his touch. Would she complain if he spent the night just trailing his fingertips over her skin? He couldn’t get enough of her.
Bree.
Finally naked and in bed with him.
His erection throbbed at the thought. This was better than a wet dream and he didn’t want to wake from it.
She wriggled beneath him, reminding him of the job at hand. Bringing her pleasure in as many ways as he could. “I got lost in your body. Sorry.”
“I’ll be happy to give you a road map.”
“I think I ca
n follow the signs. Like the way your belly quivers when I circle your navel. How your breath quickens. The muscles here tighten when I stroke closer to those bare lips. It’s like an arrow on a one-way sign. ‘Touch me here.’”
Her hips shifted, raising her pelvis to him. He slid down her side and knelt between her legs. He loved that she didn’t complain about the lamp being on, or try to hide herself from him. She’d raised her arms to frame her head on the pillow and spread her legs, leaving herself open to his gaze, his demands. Her confidence was so fucking sexy.
He let his hand run down the silken skin of her inner thigh, smiling at the slight quiver of her leg when he brushed her swollen labia. Her erotic scent reached him, feeding his need for her. She was as ready as he was. He pressed his thumb to her swollen clit as he drove fingers inside her. She moaned and rolled with him. Thinking ahead, he grabbed another condom and readied himself before continuing to build her desire.
Ash watched her face while stroking her insides. Watched the slight smile when he hit a certain spot. Almost came when her tongue slipped out and traced her lips. He couldn’t wait any longer. Her hands clenched his hips as he entered her, her fingertips digging into him almost painfully. The pain dulled as his focus shifted.
Leaning his weight on his arms, he stretched over her. He needed to kiss her. He found her mouth, thrusting his tongue inside with the rhythm of his hips. Her tongue met his and tangoed passionately. He moaned, and she answered with the same.
Her cries rose in pitch.
His moans deepened. He was so close, but held back.
Her legs wrapped around his back, allowing him to thrust even deeper into her heat. She swelled and tightened around him, hot liquid spilling down his balls. She gasped and rocked her hips once, hard.
He continued to move, carrying her as far as she would go before finally giving in to the pressure in his erection. He groaned with release, his vision growing dark. He dropped to his elbows. Sweat rolled down his face and dripped onto Bree. “Sorry about that.”
Rolling to one side, he grabbed the sheet and wiped the dampness from her brow. “You appear to light a fire inside me,” he said.
“It didn’t take much of a spark.”
Ash lay back and pulled her to rest on his shoulder, wrapping an arm around her. “Yeah, the chemistry alone is combustible. You wore me out.”
She yawned in answer. When he wriggled to pull up the blankets, Bree snuggled closer to him with a sigh.
Chapter Six
Bree was afraid to look at her reflection in the bathroom mirror when they stumbled out of bed in the morning. Her eyelids burned from the lack of sleep. Her thighs felt like spaghetti when she walked. She’d either ridden Ash or clutched him close with her legs for the last half of the night, until they’d passed out again in exhaustion.
Ash mumbled something when he squeezed past her to pee while she tested the water temperature in the shower. She slapped his ass. “Aren’t you the cheerful one?”
“You should talk. Have you seen your hair?”
She pushed the matted mess away from her face, not wanting to see exactly what had parts of it glued together. Her styling gel didn’t dry that hard. “You should be thanking me, smart ass.” She stepped under the spray and let it soak her hair. The hot water felt like heaven on her stiff muscles.
They’d slept late, so she hurried in the shower, knowing how long it took to blow-dry her hair. She wasn’t about to go out in the snow with damp hair. And she needed to be careful with her makeup, needing a light touch for a more natural look than last night.
Forty-five minutes later Bree sprayed a third coating of the helmet-strength hairspray she’d brought with her, ensuring the sleek, elegant hairdo would remain in place throughout the wedding and reception. With her hair pulled up and funky black-framed glasses on instead of her contacts, she was pretty sure the guys wouldn’t recognize her as the stripper from the night before.
She prayed she was right.
Ash peeked in the bathroom doorway. “About ready? I need to be there a little early to hold Greg’s hand.”
“I’m just about done.” She waved the hairspray can over her head for one last layer of armor.
Ash coughed and backed out of the doorway. “Hey, watch where you aim that weapon. I’m breathing here.”
She ducked her head and set down the can. “Sorry. I just want to be sure I look okay.”
He shook his head and his gaze took a long, slow, survey of her from head to toe. “You did look in the mirror, right?”
Unease settled in her midsection and she pressed a hand there to quell the butterflies. “Yeah, why? Should I have brought a different dress?” She’d aimed for conservatively sexy, a tailored, sleeveless pink floral dress with a coordinating solid-colored jacket. Her peep-toe, bone-colored heels were the closest she could come to a conservative shoe. Ash needed to look successful and she was a big part of making that impression.
The heat in his eyes when he met her gaze again could have melted the icicles on the eaves outside their room. “If you looked any hotter I wouldn’t make it to the reception.”
She smiled, relief calming her taut nerves. “Is it time to go? Do you have to meet Greg somewhere before the ceremony?”
“The wedding is here on the grounds, which is a good thing judging by all the snow. They’ve cleared the walkways, but your feet are still going to freeze.”
She shrugged. “The things we women go through for fashion. Let’s get our coats.”
The ceremony was brief. The couple had written their own vows, the sentiments moving Bree to sigh. Romantic and sweet, the groom’s voice caught as he promised eternal love.
Last night she wouldn’t have thought there was an ounce of romance in Greg.
She caught Ash looking at her several times as he stood beside the couple in front of the crowd. Once he even winked, sending ripples of warm fuzzies throughout her. Soon, the minister was presenting the couple as man and wife and the happy bride and groom filed down the aisle between the folding chairs, followed by their attendants.
The large room had been divided into a small area for the ceremony and the remainder for the reception. Bree followed the other guests to the tables and looked for her name on the place cards. Ash would be at the head table as best man, so she was on her own until the dancing started.
The other people at her table were friends of the couple, all around her age, and conversation came easily. Everyone agreed the bride was lovely, the groom rather thunderstruck. Once again, Bree noted he looked nothing like the beast he’d been at the bachelor party, but she kept that thought to herself.
Greg was totally smitten when he looked at his bride. His hand always touched her arm or hand as if he couldn’t believe his good luck, and he wanted to be certain she was real. The emotion in his eyes really tore into Bree. Never one to be envious of others, she was coming pretty close to that now.
Bree sighed. Maybe someday she’d find a guy who’d look at her that way. Even better, he’d be someone she could feel that way about, too. No one-sided Romeos for her, please.
After the ritual toasts, the cutting of the mile-high white cake, and the serving of hors d’oeuvres, the DJ turned on his mic and turntable, announcing the couple’s first dance. When the next song started and other couples moved to the open floor, Ash came to Bree with his hand held out. “Dance?”
She popped to her feet, surprisingly eager to be in his arms again. Fluttering critters awakened in her stomach and she pressed her palm there for just a moment. She lifted her arms to hold him behind his neck, his hands resting on her hips as he led her in a slow sway.
He dipped his head and inhaled near her ear. “You smell great.”
“Thanks. It’s my favorite perfume.”
“You don’t wear it to work. You wear something different.”
He’d noticed her fragrance at work. Nice. “This one is too heavy for some people. I don’t want to gag anyone in an elevator, or something.

“So, this stuff would linger in my bedroom if we made love there? We’ll have to try that soon, so I can smell you on my pillow all week.”
His words send warm shivers down her side. Such a romantic thought.
The song changed to a retro hit. The dancers broke apart and began bobbing around the floor. Ash shook his head wildly and waved his arms. Bree laughed and swung her arms in a more sedate move, kicking her feet in time with the beat. It wasn’t the chicken dance, thank goodness, but the afternoon wasn’t over yet.
One of the guys who’d been at the bachelor party circled around them, shouting something at Ash. The guy dropped in a hip-hop split and popped back up. Suddenly, he looked hard into Bree’s face, then down at her feet. He leaned in to be heard over the music. “It is you.”
She fought to keep her reaction at bay, smiling in her most polite brush off way. “Do I know you?”
Ash slowed down and took notice.
“From last night,” his friend said. He elbowed Ash. “So you decided to keep her around, huh?”
Sending her an apologetic look, Ash said, “You’re mistaken, dude. Leave my date alone.”
“Your date borrowed the stripper’s nail polish, then?” He pointed to her feet, where her large toenail peeked through the small opening.
Ash shook his head. “You think they only made one bottle of that color? Come on, man. Drop it.”
The guy’s breath reeked of alcohol when he took Bree in a one-armed hug. “I want a turn, that’s all. She was really hot last night but I didn’t get a shot at her.”
Greg broke through the dancers surrounding them. “What’s up, guys? It’s getting a little loud.”
Taking Bree’s hand, Ash pulled her from the friend’s side. “Nothing, man. We need to hit the road before the next storm arrives.” He held out his hand.
Greg shook it, slapping him on the shoulder. “You’re not going to stick around for the garter toss?”
“Nah. Leave that for the guys who need all the help they can get.”
“Okay. Well, drive safely.” Greg smiled at Bree. “Wait, I haven’t met your date. I’m Greg, the lucky groom.”
